Intro to Brief Writing & Oral Advocacy
The spring semester is divided into two, one-credit courses. In the first, Intro to Brief Writing, you’ll draft a trial motion and an Appellate Brief. In the second, Oral Advocacy, you’ll participate in the 1L Moot Court Competition by presenting oral arguments before a mock panel of the Supreme Court.
During this semester, you will be introduced to written trial and appellate advocacy. The primary assignments are a trial-level motion and an appellate brief.
Oral Advocacy
This course is designed to prepare you for oral advocacy, particularly in appellate settings. Your arguments will be based on the appellate brief you completed in the Introduction to Brief Writing course.
